Artist Biography
Stacia Iverson is a non-binary, emerging sculptor based in Cedar Falls, Iowa. They grew up on a farm in rural Iowa, with a passion for creativity, and began their career as a self-taught multimedia two-dimensional artist. After taking a ceramics course in high school, Stacia fell in love with sculpture and ceramics. In 2023, they enrolled in the BFA program at the University of Northern Iowa at the age of seventeen, where they continued taking classes to further their skills as a sculptor and ceramicist. In 2024, they began working as a fabrication artist with UNI’s Public Art Incubator, having the opportunity to restore and fabricate numerous sculptures across the state of Iowa. In May of 2025, they installed their first public sculpture: 20 Years Later: What Happened Here, in Clear Lake, Iowa. Iverson’s work has also been exhibited at notable galleries such as The University of Northern Iowa Gallery of Art, the Iowa Central Community College Triton Art Gallery, and, most recently, at Friendship Village’s 2025 Community Art Exhibition.
Iverson is working towards completing their BFA in sculpture with plans to further their education with an MFA at an undecided university. Currently, they are focused on creating works that emphasize emotion and explore their personal experiences struggling with mental health disorders, for their BFA show, opening Fall of 2026. In addition to installation artwork, Stacia is continuing to develop ideas for future public sculptures and hopes to advance their career as a public professional artist in the future.
